Let's Party! Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Hello to everyone dropping by the Ultimate Blog Party 2010! I haven't been on-line much lately due to some computer and internet issues, so this year's party kind of snuck up on me. I'm slightly late with my entry, but it's a week-long bash, so let's get ready to party!

My name is Charlene, and I'm a I'm a GRITS gal--Girl Raised In The South. Born and raised in southwest and central Louisiana, I lived there most of my adult life until recently, as well. In the last four years, I've lived in Alaska, Colorado, back to Louisiana for a while, and now in Georgia. Faith and family are central to my life. I'm a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God, and love Women's Ministry and smalltown rural churches. I've been married for 26 years to the same great man, and we have one son, who is a senior in college.

This blog started out to chronicle my struggle to become a true chayil woman of strength and virtue, and it evolves in different directions according to what I'm doing or thinking about.

Blog Hop '09

Welcome to Blog Hop 09 visitors!

For my non-tweeting, non-blogging readers, Blogher 09 is a conference being held in Chicago this weekend that "everyone" in the blogosphere is buzzing about. In reality, there are only about 1500 women in attendance, but in our niche of women bloggers, it seems as though everyone in the world is going to Blogher--except us!

There are several "I'm-not-going-to-Blogher" blog parties this weekend, and Blog Hop 09 is the PG rated version (!). Many thanks to Pensieve and Musings of a Housewife for sponsoring this.

For first time visitors, I am a Christian woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. We have a house in rural small town Louisiana that we seldom live in, and spend most of our time in a corporate apartment in Georgia (for now). I've been a working-outside-the-house gal for most of my adult life, but have had the privilege for the last year of being able to stay at home for the first time in years. And because of that, I'm also a couponer and deal chaser, and have recently become a frequenter of thrift shops and flea markets.

It's Party Time!

Every party has it's early birds as well as those who are fashionably late, and the Ultimate Blog Party 2009 is no exception! I've already had one visitor to my Party invitation post, so I'm going to go ahead and put my actual party post a little bit early!

For those of you who may be visiting, I am, as my profile states, first and foremost a Christian woman, wife, and mother. At this time I have two bases of operation, one in Southwest Louisiana, which is home, and one in Columbus, Georgia, which is home away from home.
